Woman who landed on top of two vehicles put on Kawunyemu test

A female driver whose Harrier brand car caused an accident along Kiira Road on Saturday morning is being subjected to a test over suspicion she was driving under the influence of alcohol.

Kampala Metropolitan Traffic Police spokesperson ACP Charles Ssebambulide told journalists that journalists that Elizabeth Nansubuga could have “miscalculated” her moves as she tried to cross the Kiira junction.

“That lady miscalculated when lights were about to change. She wanted to cross the stop line before the red lights. Unfortunately, she couldn’t make it,” said Ssebamubulide.

Traffic rules demand that a driver approaching a yellow traffic light must stop at the stop line, or before entering the intersection if the driver cannot stop safely at the stop line.

Ssebamubulide further revealed that, “by the time she stepped on her brakes after seeing the red lights; it was too late.” In the process she injured two people both hospitalised
