Last year I ran the MTN Kampala Marathon. It took me 2 hours and 40 minutes. My decision to run the marathon was based entirely on my lifelong dream of accomplishing such a feat. It was about realizing a dream and proving to myself that I could do it. However, alongable lessons. the way, I realized numerous other benefits. I got into the best shape of my life. I made some new friends. I found countless hours to reflect on my life. And I learned some valuable lessons too,but most importantly I met people who changed my life.

Am Mukasa Edward an athlete at Uganda Christian university, I have won a number of medals for the institution including a bronze from the East African University games last year,am also part of the Uganda Athletics federation (Team Uganda). I specialize in Middle distance races 800 meters and 1500 meters. I train everyday with Musagala Ronald in Mukono, I have a dream of representing Uganda in the coming Olympics in Tokyo.

Last year I met a someone during the MTN Marathon now a friend,  John is an athlete and writer with campusjuice,a former MUBS student,he was also a student at Uganda Christian University, although he wasn’t part of the university team he is one of the best athletes I have known, probably better than me.  In one of our conversations later that evening I shared my dream with him,I wanted to build an athletics school. To cut the whole story short,I have started building an athletics school with funds from abroad. Here is one of my many campaigns on generosity, click here

If you want to make new friends, get a new hobby. Hobbies give us things in common with others. They help form the foundation for new conversations and relationships. If you are looking for new friends, I recommend jumping into a new hobby: learn bridge, join a tennis league, pick up quilting, volunteer, or give spirituality a shot. You will be pleasantly surprised at the new people you will meet.
