If you logged into Twitter today morning to rant, tweet statistics, bible verses, about your opinions and values, politics, sports or whatever and have always had your mind programmed to have this fit in 140 characters or better go on and make threads, then today is indeed your great morning. Twitter has finally rolled out the 280 Character limit and scraped off the 140 character limit.

Users logging into their accounts can now tweet up to 280 characters although a few testers had already enjoyed the characters. In extending that change to almost all users, Twitter Product Manager Aliza Rosen published a statement that claims, among other things, that the test didn’t result in an endless wave of fully packed 280-character posts.

A few months ago, Twitter said that those who tweeted in languages like Japanese, Korean and Chinese were able to express around double the amount of information in a single character, compared with users who spoke English, Spanish, Portuguese or French, for example. In this regard, Twitter started testing the 280 Character limit which has been rolled out today.

In a statement released by Twitter they noted; “We want every person around the world to easily express themselves on Twitter, so we’re doing something new: we’re going to try out a longer limit, 280 characters, in languages impacted by cramming (which is all except Japanese, Chinese, and Korean)”

Go on, Enjoy and Tweet away!
