19 years old Challa Elma Kapel is the new Miss Tourism Uganda.
Challa emerged winner after beating 11 other contestants at a colourful event which took place on Saturday night at Kampala Serena hotel under the theme; “Let the pearl shine”
She won a brand new BMW mini cooper series from Radiant and an air ticket from Brussels airlines among other prizes.
The first runner up was Queen Amuge Gertrude Olungura from Teso Region and second runner up was Ayebare Anita from Ankole Region.
The other categories were Miss Congeniality won by Rita Tumuhimbise, Miss Tourism Sports Queen which went to Gertrude Jokudu who also claimed Miss Personality and Tourism Multi Media Queen, Miss Talent went to Jackline Ahura and Face of Radiant went to Anita Ayebare.
Jessica Aanyu won (Miss Photogenic), Beatrice Katumba (Miss Conservation), Gertrude Amuge (Miss Tourism Beach Beauty), Gloria Alele (Best National Costume & Face of Ssese Habitat Resort) and Mary Nakimuli (Miss Independent) who has a hearing and speech impairment.
The pageant aims to promote Uganda’s tourism by showcasing Ugandan beauties as the pearls of Africa.
