The taxi hailing business in Uganda has become quite fierce since Uber paved the way for others in June 2016. Since then, a number of taxi hailing companies have popped up to try and get a sizeable piece in the taxi business that has seemingly boomed.
In the latest development, Mondo Ride a smart taxi application that currently operates in Sub-Saharan Africa and the Middle East is rumored to be launching in Uganda soon. Mondo Ride is a multinational online transportation network company founded in UAE by Troels Andersen and based in Nairobi, [Kenya]. The ride hailing business headquartered in Nairobi, Kenya and they exist to provide an affordable, safe and reliable transport network to people in Africa.
It’s not yet confirmed when they will be launching in Uganda but it has been noted that the Kenyan based taxi hailing company has already started recruiting here in Uganda prepping for their yet to be confirmed launch. If they happen to launch in Uganda, they will join the already competitive market that has Uber, Taxify, Friendship Taxi and Quick Taxi.
Like the usual, Mondo connects passengers with nearby drivers and ensures getting a ride within a short amount of time, as well as, guaranteeing safety and comfort for the passenger. Mondo Ride is available on Android and iOS. Mondo continues to expand across Africa, connecting friends, families and communities.
