Finally! Google Calendar has a new look on the web

Many people use Google Calendar for setting, reminders, events, scheduling meeting and a lot more. However, Google hasn’t updated the look of the web version of Google Calendar in a very long time. The Android and iOS app have received several material design upgrades of the years but the big G ignored website version.

Google Calendar has always looked like a website designed in the early 2000s with a rather boring look. However, starting today, Google is rolling out a much better looking version with material design concepts such as colorful tags and material tags.

It comes with several new features for event admins such as the ability to view multiple calendars on the “day” view, for easier comparison and booking. Users can also hover over participants’ names to view their contact information. Users can now link to relevant spreadsheets, documents or presentations in your Calendar invite and open them directly from the new “Event Detail” view.

Well, the upgrade doesn’t bring life changing functionality but it’s always good to look at pretty User interfaces. You can force the new look by clicking this link and the tap the ‘Use New Calendar’ button.
