Fusion Band music sensational Iryn Namubiru is in huge trouble after the Commercial Court ruled against her in the music piracy case involving her and singer Lyto boss.
We can reveal that the commercial court entered judgement against Iryn after she defaulted on submitting her defense within the time set for her to do so.Consequently, the commercial court granted Lyto Boss’ request of passing a uncontested judgment against Iryn.

Lyto Boss’ lawyers of Mpeirwe and Company Advocates dragged Namubiru to the Commercial Court in June this year, after she refused to compensate her for ‘stealing’ his song.

The scandal had sucked in Golden Production’s singer Catherine Kusaasira, whom Iryn had in turn accused of pocketing Shs1m, which the latter passed on to the former to pay Lyto boss for the copyright.

In fact, Kusaasira found herself sent to the coolers after she was arrested for pocketing Iryn’s dime. Later, Kusaasira admitted pocketing Iryn’s dime and even undertook to clear Lyto boss.

We could not immediately establish whether Kusaasira cleared Lyto boss eventually. What we know for a fact is that the commercial court has since passed judgement against Iryn in the region of Shs50m.

That notwithstanding, Lyto Boss’ lawyers have since been directed by court to make a formal proof of the Shs50m, which they claim was loss that was incurred by their client arising out of the piracy.

In short, court may either uphold the Shs50m or revise it downwards depending on how successful otherwise; Lyto’s lawyers will defend the award.

In all events, Iryn will have to pay costs of prosecuting the case to Lyto.
