
Airtel Uganda today morning woke up Ugandans with a good news of enabling their 3G broadband network across all country making it the first telecom company in the country to do so. The event that was graced by the Prime minister of Republic of Uganda Ruhakana Rugunda and top officials from Airtel Uganda saw the company launch their new movement which will allow all subscribers will have access to the high-speed Internet regardless of their Geographical Location.
There are over 154 Rural sites under implementation and Additional new sites of 165 Giving a total of 319 sites implying this will enable stable internet connection across the country. Airtel have already rolled out 114 sites and just left with another 40 sites which should be completed soon.

To satisfy customers new affordable data bundles dubbed “Data-Blasta” was introduced with significant differences in the price drop. In The new rates, we see over 60% drop in the daily bundles, over 100% drop in the weekly bundles and 140% drop with the monthly bouquets.

Despite the fact that there are still many ICT-related problems, Airtel has come to help us enhance the range & quality of services & continued the integration of ICT solutions into other areas like Education, Health, and Finance. According to Mr. VG Somasekhar the Managing Director Airtel Uganda, The internet is going to transform the Public Sector, Business Sector, and the Civil Society Sector.
The role of the internet across Uganda is also going to tremendously improve service delivery in every corner of the Country. He went ahead to assure the country that this commitment is going to become a reality in the next 2 to 4 months.
