Charles Hamya, the General Manager of Multichoice Uganda, has stepped aside for a month to take care of a “family situation that regrettably found it’s way to my workplace.”
Multichoice, the digital pay-tv company that owns Dstv and Govt Africa went into a frenzy last week when a Hamya’s wife, Crusid Matovu, publicly accused her husband of having an affair with a workmate, Dstv’s Marketing Manager, Phoebe Nakabazzi since 2015.
In an email to Multichoice staff, Hamya said he was taking leave to allow the company to make an investigation into the matter as it deems fit.
Matooke Republic has also learnt that Hamya, had just returned to office after six months following what insider sources, say was an audit into Hamya for allegedly defrauding the company to further his own gains.
“My absence should allow business to carry out an investigation into this matter,” he wrote.
Willem Hattingh will be the interim General Manager while Hamya is away.
Tina Wamala, Multichoice Corporate Communications Manager confirmed the developments.
