Bobi Wine breaks silence over Ashburg Kato’s arrest

Kyadondo MP and singer Bobi Wine has opened up about the arrest and detention of famed blogger Ashburg Kato.

The musician-turned-politician has revealed in a since deleted post on Facebook that Ashburg Kato is being detained for reasons that have nothing to do with defaming tycoon Bryan White on his Ghetto TV.
According to Bobi, the government is using Ashburg to instill fear and stifle Ugandans’ use of social media platforms as mediums of self-expression.

Bobi Wine adds that he is currently working with a few human rights lawyers to free the blogger from Luzira prison where he was transferred after his court appearance on Friday last week.
