Photos: MTN holds Iftar dinner for Muslim Community

MTN Uganda together with Salam TV hosted select members of the Muslim community at an Iftar dinner held at Hotel Africana on Friday evening.

The dinner that was attended by top Muslim clerics also had the CEO MTN Uganda, Mr Wim, Lord Mayor Kampala, Erias Lukwago and Next media CEO, Kin Kariisa among others.

Speaking at the dinner, the MTN Uganda CEO thanked the Muslim community for allowing to work with MTN and using their services. He also wished them a peaceful Ramadan.

The City Lord Mayor Erias Lukwago was appreciative to MTN and Salam for hosting them. He hinted on peace in the Muslim community and advised everyone present to be vigilant in the wake of the violence and kidnaps in the city. The Lord mayor asked Security organs not to tie the kidnaps on the moslems as they always want to taint their religion.

Next Media CEO, Kin Kariisa revealed plans by MTN and Salam TV to traverse the whole country giving to the less fortunate all through the month of Ramadan. Kariisa said that several items would be given to the Muslims in different mosques, prisons, hospitals, schools and other places in all corners of Uganda.
