Winnie Nanyondo has bagged bronze at the Carrara Stadium in the 1,500m finals with a personal best time of four minutes in the race that was won by Melissa Courtney (Wales) followed by Sarah McDonald of England in the second place.
Winnie adds to Uganda’s impressive medal tally that so far boosts of four medals; two gold medals and two bronze.
Uganda now ranked 12th on the medal table. On Sunday Joshua Kiprui Cheptegei bagged Uganda’s first gold medal when he won the 5,000m final.
Stella Chesang was next to win 10,000m women’s gold medal on Monday, while Mercyline Chelangat picked a bronze in the same race.
