COSAFA U-20: Uganda Hippos arrive safely in Zambia, set for tourney

The Uganda U-20 team (The Hippos) contingent arrived safely in Mwanawasa international Airport, Ndola in Zambia on Monday ahead of COSAFA U-20 Tournament.

The Contingent then checked in at the Nobutula Lodge in Kitwe Zambia 60 km away from the Airport.

The Hippos who started their journey from Entebbe Airport went through Addis Ababa Ethiopia and Lubumbasha Congo before their final destination in Zambia at the Mwanawasa international Airport Ndola .

‘The players are in good shape and ready to play the hosts Zambia’ noted the Team Captain Muhammed Shaban.

Uganda is one of the invited countries for the COSAFA U-20 tournament. The other is Egypt.

The head of delegation Hajji Abdul Lukooya Ssekabira expressed delight upon the successful journey right from Entebbe through Ethiopia, Congo to Zambia finally.

“First of all, I would love to thank the Almighty Allah for the successful journey mercies he gave us. The players and the rest of the officials are in sound health. We are ready for the tournament which kicks off on Wednesday.” Hajji Ssekabira said.

Uganda Hippos’ opening match is on Wednesday against hosts and defending champions, the Young Chipolopolo Stars.
