The National Resistance Movement (NRM) is planning to swear in Raila Odinga as president ahead of the Supreme Court ruling.

The court is expected to make a ruling on a petition filed to contest the validity of Uhuru Kenyatta’s re-election.

Should the court uphold Uhuru’s win, then the movement will swear Raila in as president with the conviction that Raila won in the August election The National Resistance Movement (NRM) has threatened to swear in NASA chief principal Raila Odinga as president ahead of the Supreme Court ruling.

Uhuru Kenyatta

NRM has revealed that Raila Odinga will be sworn in as the next Kenyan president should the Supreme Court uphold Uhuru Kenyatta’s win in the October 26, repeat poll.

As reported earlier, two Kenyans moved to the Supreme Court and filled petitions to challenge Uhuru’s win in the repeat election.

Meanwhile President Uhuru Kenyatta has asked Supreme Court to dismiss two election petitions challenging his win.

In more than 10 affidavits filed in opposition to the petitions, President Kenyatta says the petitioners have made unsubstantiated claims.

Kenyatta noted that it is deceitful and misleading for the petitioners to masquerade as bona fide defenders of the public interest,” he said in a statement.

He President Kenyatta accuses Nasa of deliberately setting out to make a brazenly unlawful attempt to ensure that no repeat election would be held as scheduled on October 26.

However the Kenya’s Supreme Court is yet to hear these petitions. It should be noted that this is the same court that nullified President Uhuru Kinyatta first victory on allegations of election malpractices, voter bribery among others.
