Social critic Frank Gashumba is currently being held by the Chieftaincy of Military intelligence but that will not stop his daughter TV presenter Sheilah Gashumba from “grinding”.
The “lil stunner” as she calls herself is headed down South and although some online media outlets reported that she was fleeing the country following her dad’s arrest, Sheilah says she has a gig this weekend in South Africa.
“I will be in South Africa tomorrow to host the STARQT Awards happening on 4th November this Saturday. I was booked and paid four months ago!!” Sheilah posted on her Facebook wall.
“I know the struggle of making sure an event is perfect and I am not about to disappoint the organisers of the event and my fans in South Africa!!”
“My management in South Africa has also lined up radio and TV interviews for me in South Africa that I have to appear for!!”
The circumstances under which Gashumba is being held by the military are not yet clear. Initial reports indicated he was being held for espionage that he was carrying out for the Rwanda government, but after a search of his home and office, security now indicates he was found in possession of marijuana, cocaine and fake passports.
Fans of the social critic are however saying his arrest has been politically motivated as he is a strong government critic, and is one of the vocal voices against lifting of the presidential term limits to allow President Museveni to contest again in 2021.
