
Security forces have reportedly found cocaine, marijuana and multiple passports in detained social critic Frank Gashumba’s Bunga home after a search.
Gashumba was yesterday detained by Chieftaincy for Military Intelligence at was being held at Mbuya. This morning, both his Bunga home and Industrial Area offices were searched.
Reports are that he has been carrying out espionage on behalf of the Rwanda government but officials from Sisimuka Uganda, the pressure group he heads say they have not got any explanation as to why he is under detention.
Gashumba is a popular critic against the government excesses and has of recent been adding his voice to the Togikwatako campaign, against lifting Presidential Age Limits from the age of 75. He has largely been using his social media platforms after radio and TV stations were reportedly warned against hosting him.
