Eddy Kenzo Explains Why He Received His BET Award On The Red Carpet

Much as Eddy Kenzo’s fans worldwide were happy that he won a BET Award, many were dissatisfied with the manner in which it was handed over to him.

The BET International Viewer’s Choice Best New Artist received his award on the red carpet, hours before the main event. BET organisers faced alot of criticism for this, with many branding them disrespectful to Africans.

During a recent television interview, Eddy Kenzo shed more light on this issue, giving us a totally different perspective.

The Big Talent boss revealed that BET organisers informed him that each award was being sponsored by a certain company and the sponsors of his award never paid for stage time and thats why it was given to him off the main stage.

“Its upon the sponsors of the particular BET Award to pay for stage time. But otherwise I was treated well because I was sleeping in the same hotel with Drake, Tyga and Nicki Minaj,” Kenzo concluded.
