The Uganda Police has issued a summon for Kyandondo MP, Hon. Robert Kyagulanyi over an alleged assault of a police officer and holding an illegal protest.
In a letter addressed to the Speaker of Parliament, Rt. Hon Rebecca Kadaga, Kyagulanyi, known popularly as Bobi Wine is required to appear before the officer-in-charge of Criminal Investigations at Kampala Central Police station (CPS), Joshua Tusingwire on Wednesday at 9 am.
On Wednesday last week, Bobi Wine in the company of other musicians, journalists among other youth held a demonstration in Kampala challenging the 1% tax and Ushs200 daily payments to access social media platforms.
Three people, including Bobi Wine’s brother Nyanzi and bodyguard Eddy Mutwe were arrested and remanded.
