The Acting Gulu District Police Commander Joseph Ayiki has been sacked, just days after he was shot by a private security guard attached to Exposs Security Ltd.
Ayiki was shot slightly above his right knee at 3am on Wednesday morning at TAKS Center in Gulu Municipality, just half a Kilometer from Central Police Station.
Details of his sacking have emerged following a resolution reached during a regional management meeting at Aswa river region police headquarters in Gulu town.
The Acting Aswa River Region Police Commander Osteen Wilber Wanyama has confirmed the development saying Ayiki has now been replaced by the Officer in charge of Gulu Central Police station ASP John Bosco Nyankol as the acting DPC Gulu.
