Backyard Gardeners Show on this weekend

Garden enthusiasts are expected to once again flock the Kampala Sheraton Hotel gardens for the annual Backyard Gardeners show that is slated for this Saturday, July 7.

The annual show that has had two successful editions in the past, with one in April 2016 and July 2017 respectively will be holding its third edition this weekend and is promising to be a fun day.

Organized under the theme “The Garden Picnic: Lifestyle, Family and Fashion”, the annual event has attracted a number of sponsors like Tusker Lite who were announced during a press conference that took place on Tuesday at the Kampala Sheraton Hotel.

“Gardening is part of who we are as a people in Uganda, and we believe it should be a fun activity. This year’s theme focuses on the garden picnic and no picnic is complete without Tusker Lite in the picture,” said Grace Namutebi, Brand Manager – Premium Beers at Uganda Breweries Limited.

The event that is designed as a lifestyle and family fair will feature exhibitors like Builders Yard, Letshego and Davis and Shirtliff among others and a lineup of guest speakers including Diana Nambatya Nansubuga, a recipient of the 2016 American Express NGen Leadership Award, and Essau Geofrey Galukande, Deputy Director Directorate of Gender Community Services & Production, KCCA among others.

The show will also feature music from Myko Ouma, Sharifah Musisi and Michael Kitanda, as well as a fashion showcase from Paple Rayn.
