Early this year, telecom firm; Airtel Uganda took a milestone to celebrate 10 million customers. This tremendous growth has cemented their position as the fastest growing telecom in the country.

It’s growth has been fostered by an increase in the uptake of the telecom’s products and services, great partnerships and investment in network expansion across the country. Last year in September, the telecom firm followed the footprints of MTN, Vodafone to launch its 4G LTE network.

The announcement was made at a press briefing which took place at Kampala Serena Hotel attended by Hon Frank Tumwebaze. Airtel invested heavily in the upgrade with 404 across Kampala, Entebbe, Wakiso and a further 126 sites across the country.

Hon Frank Tumwebaze congratulated the entire staff upon the momentous achievement.

“One of the key responsibilities of the government is to provide a conducive environment and policy for investors, he said.”

Airtel then argued its customers to upgrade to the latest network for a better experience.

How to enjoy Airtel’s 4G experience
  1. Swap your 2G and 3G simcards for 4G at no Cost. Visit any of the services centers or do it yourself.
  2. New customers to the network get the 4G SIM at only UGX 2000 and comes coupled with 1GB data.

Notably, one needs to have a 4G handset that does support 4G LTE technologies/network.

The telecom firm has also made it easy, as it allows one to swap lines for themselves. Here’s how:
