Leila Kayondo Defends SK Mbuga in Court, Tycoon Is Released

After spending three days in Kabalagala Police Station cells, city tycoon Sullyman K Mbuga has finally been released on bail.
This afternoon, Mbuga was charged before Makindye Chief Magistrate for assaulting local singer Leila Kayondo while at Speke Resort Munyonyo and through his lawyers, he denied these charges.
Kayondo informed the court that she had already forgiven her husband and reconciled with him. She had also recorded an additional statement yesterday stating that she wasn’t assaulted by Mbuga, contrary to her earlier statement.
“My Lord, I forgave my husband and withdrew the charges against him. I recorded an additional statement at Kabalagala Police station,” she said in court.
Leila Kayondo and Walakira Zaake were presented as sureties as the magistrate released Mbuga on a non-cash bail on shs 5 million shillings and for each of the sureties shs 10 million.

The case was adjourned to Friday January 8th when Leila and Mbuga will present to court documents to show their reconciliation.
